SHREVEPORT, LA

I really enjoyed this group of highly engaged 4th and 5th graders at St. Mark’s! Thank you for inviting me to introduce you to Britfield and the Lost Crown and share with you all about the importance of creativity and the spark living within each child!

And now for a few little factoids about Shreveport and Louisiana:

  1. This is Southern Maid Donuts’ turf! No other donut compares according to the Shreveport locals! Anyone who chooses the Krispy Kreme route more than likely doesn’t have a “318” at the beginning of their cell phone number!

  2. Shreveport Is home to the Mudbugs Hockey Team – Q: What exactly is a mudbug, though? A: Crayfish are freshwater crustaceans resembling small lobsters. They are also known as crawfish, crawdads, freshwater lobsters, mountain lobsters, mudbugs, or yabbies.

  3. In the beginning, masks worn during Mardi Gras allowed float riders to escape society and class restraints, allowing them to be whomever they’d like to be. Today, float riders are required by law to wear masks or paint their face to keep the festive traditions and mystery alive.

Thanks for traveling along with me!  C. R.
